In my cases, with both of my huskies, food changes were done from the first day and there was no problem, even if I made an abrupt change in my puppy diet. If you just adopted a puppy and his previous owner fed him good food but you still want to change it, you can do this gradually over a week or two to prevent stomach upset and possible diarrhea.
