My pitbull puppy looks skinny. Everybody spewing nonsense like "definitely too skinny ermegerd ermegerd ermegerd" needs to brush up on correct American Pit Bull Terrier breed standard. Yes, the dog could stand to gain a few lbs, but really she's fine. She isn't "too skinny" and there is nothing alarming about this. Anyways, she's 9 weeks old and in my opinion looks pretty skinny. We feed her 3 times per day, (four, if you include the treats we give her when we're training her/when she's being rewarded randomly for good behavior), each time giving her 1/4 a cup of "Blue Buffalo: Wilderness puppy" food. Okay, I am going prey model for my dog. And I have a 3 months young American Pit Bull Terrier puppy. She eats more than 10% of his weight everyday. About 700g of meat and bones everyday. Her weight is 6kg right now. From above, she have that waistline and I could see her ribs sometimes, barely. Her ribs are huge. But when it comes down to the stomach it looks thin.
Being overweight or obese poses significant health threats to your dog, but being underweight is not healthy either. A quick body check can determine if your dog is too thin. If your dog seems too skinny to you, regardless of what the body check indicates, consult your veterinarian. He's thin but looks alright. That's a really high energy breed, especially when they're younger. Dogs go through a "gangly" phase just like kids do. Check his poop to make sure you don't see any worms in it. If not then he's fine. He's just growing. When a Boxer is a puppy, he has a nice rounded appearance. It's normal for there to be an extra layer of 'puppy fat' and muscles are not yet defined. He has a long way to go to have his strong, adult appearance. A Boxer dog can have a temporary phase of looking too skinny because there is a window of time in which puppy fat is lost and the dog. I just recently gotten my 3month old pitbull puppy, & she's really skinny. it isnt her genes because her parents are gottiline, & there pretty big. & i was wondering what i can feed her to gain some mass & stay healthy, pleaaseee helpp.thanks.
RE: Dane puppy looks skinny! When my boy was younger between 2 months and 4 months people always used to say "I think your black lab is too skinny." I told him he was just a 9 week old dane pup and that you are supposed to keep them on the thinner side. If your puppy is receiving plenty of nutritious food and is still skinny, he may have a health problem. Intestinal parasites, contagious diseases like parvovirus, bacterial infection, diarrhea, vomiting and intestinal blockage can cause a puppy to be too thin. Your veterinarian may need to run urine, fecal or blood tests to determine the reason. Pitbull puppy Pitbulls in general can be many different colors: black, white, red, tan and fawn, for example. Many pitbulls are two or more colors. Their noses can be different colors and normally have wide nostrils. American Pitbull Terrier have medium-sized eyes, and all colors except blue are accepted in conformation shows. Young puppies should not be skinny, unless they are a very slender breed such as greyhounds. Have your vet check your pup for worms and treat him if he has them. Give him a good quality puppy food, four meals a day until about 8 weeks, three meals...
By Paula Fitzsimmons. You’re feeding your puppy a nutritionally-balanced diet and following the directions on the label with precision. You watch as your new best friend voraciously eats his dog food, and surmise his appetite isn’t the problem.Despite your best efforts, however, he’s not gaining weight as he should. My boy, Shadow, is too skinny at the moment, as all his ribs are visible. I can struggle to get weight on him as, if I over-feed him, he ends up with the squits, so if he loses condition, it can take a while to get it back on him. Willow's ribs aren't visible and she looks pretty similar to your boy. Both of mine are very leggy as far as Labs go. Is My Puppy Sick? There are many dog illnesses which puppies are at risk of contracting and a variety of symptoms which could mean trouble is brewing. To make matters even more confusing, certain symptoms can be signs of either a dangerous disease or a much simpler, less worrying one. A Boxer dog can have a temporary phase of looking too skinny because there is a window of time in which puppy fat is lost and the dog rapidly grows in height.. This happens before his/her muscles become defined. During this short window of time, a Boxer will have a healthy appetite and be as active as ever.
